These sessions introduce middle school teachers to the practical applications of artificial intelligence in the classroom. They provide a clear understanding of AI, explore useful tools for teaching, and show how it can support lesson planning, personalized learning, and critical thinking.
Part 2 – AI for Feedback, Assessment, and Mindful Use
The second session looks at how AI can support teachers beyond task creation. We will examine practical, time-saving ways to use AI for assessment and feedback, while also considering how to use the time we have in class constructively to strengthen social skills and promote mindful technology use. We'll see how AI can lighten the teacher’s load while keeping student well-being at the centre.

Andrew Howarth is an English language teacher, trainer, and consultant based in Verona. He has over 15 years’ experience working with schools, universities, and publishers across Italy, specializing in digital education and innovative classroom practice.. His recent work focuses on the practical use of AI tools to motivate students, support teachers, and make learning more engaging. He is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Digital Education with the University of Essex.
