The Umkhonto weSizwe Liberation War Veterans (MKLWV) is demanding a
sweeping overhaul at the Military Veterans Department.
It also demands the removal of director-general Irene Mpolweni over
what it calls the department's failure to deliver on services
enshrined in the Military Veterans Act.
In a statement, the organisation decried what it called the demeaning
and disrespectful manner in which freedom fighters are treated.
