Every year on March 8th, International Women’s Day commemorates the remarkable achievements of women across the globe, celebrating their contributions in social, economic, cultural, and political spheres, while also advocating for gender equality and accelerating progress towards parity. This year's celebration aims to spotlight the diverse accomplishments of women in various domains.

In line with the festivities, Northern Railway has designated five stations as Pink stations to mark the occasion. These include Firozshah on Firozpur division, Mohali on Ambala division, Malhaur & Manak Nagar on Lucknow division, and Delhi Safdarjung on Delhi division. These stations are now managed entirely by female staff, who undertake roles such as Guard, Assistant Stations Master, Loco Pilot, and RPF.

The introduction of Pink stations represents a significant stride in railway operations. With an all-women workforce, these stations not only ensure safe and secure environments for female employees and passengers but also serve as a platform for women to achieve financial independence and foster a supportive community.

This initiative underscores Northern Railway's commitment to empowering women and promoting inclusivity within the railway sector.
