Residents of Ganze Sub County, Kilifi County seek help from the government and stakeholders to enable them get alternative income-generating activities and abandon cutting down trees for charcoal trade.
They claim that the hard economic times and high living costs had forced them to invade trees and community forests to burn charcoal, an activity they now attribute to the harsh climatic conditions since the tree cover has been diminished.
