A video showing a Mora #2 starting fires with charcloth and a rock. I showed two commonly used methods for doing this. The Mora tossed some ok sparks but not on par with fully hardened carbon steel used for strikers. Often the best sparking steel is too hard for a knife unless the blade was heat treated differently from the striking surface which isn't the case with the Mora number 2.
Care should be take when using this method to start a fire. There is a risk of injury. Full attention to detail needs to be employed to mitigate that risk.
