New 2025 Ducati Streetfighter V4 and V4 S Revealed

As is customary around this time of year, Ducati has been hard at work unveiling its latest creations. The iconic Italian motorcycle manufacturer is offering a glimpse into what enthusiasts can expect over the coming year, and this time, the excitement is palpable. Among the most anticipated announcements is the debut of the 2025 Ducati Streetfighter V4.

The Streetfighter V4 builds on the success of Ducati's earlier release this year—the Panigale V4. The Panigale has already cemented its place as one of the lightest and most powerful motorcycles of its kind, designed to deliver a MotoGP-level experience for the road. With the new Streetfighter, Ducati has taken inspiration from the Panigale and created a machine that is not only stunning but also a new benchmark in performance.

The highlight of the 2025 Streetfighter V4 is its Desmosedici Stradale engine. For the first time, Ducati has equipped the Streetfighter with the exact same engine configuration as the Panigale V4. This means the bike can seamlessly transition between exhilarating supersport rides and more casual road trips, making it a versatile option for riders seeking both power and practicality.

The Desmosedici Stradale powerplant is a 90-degree V4 engine featuring desmodromic valve distribution and a counter-rotating crankshaft. The engine produces an impressive 214 horsepower in its standard setup, a six-horsepower increase compared to the previous model. Riders who opt for the Akrapovič racing exhaust will see the power output climb to an astounding 226 horsepower, making it the most powerful version of the Streetfighter to date.

Ducati has not stopped at simply upgrading the engine. The motorcycle’s frame, derived from the Panigale, has been redesigned to be both lighter and stiffer than its predecessor. The swingarm has undergone a transformation as well, moving from a single-sided design to a symmetrical double-sided hollow construction. This change reduces lateral stiffness by an impressive 43 percent and trims some weight, further enhancing the bike's agility.

The wheels are another standout feature. Crafted from forged aluminum alloy, the five-spoke design is inspired by Ducati's DesmosediciGP racing bike. These wheels are paired with Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 suspension components, ensuring a smooth yet precise ride, while Brembo braking hardware provides unmatched stopping power. These elements come together to deliver a motorcycle that weighs just 417 pounds (189 kilograms), contributing to an outstanding power-to-weight ratio of 1.13 horsepower per kilogram.

The new Streetfighter V4 also debuts a host of technological advancements. For the first time, it comes equipped with variable-length intake trumpets, which optimize engine performance across different speeds. Additionally, Ducati has refined the Twin Pulse timing distribution and upgraded the cams, further improving the bike's responsiveness.

The electronic control suite on the Streetfighter V4 is nothing short of exceptional. Riders can enjoy features such as traction control, slide control, wheelie control, power launch, and a lightning-fast quick-shifter. One of the most notable additions is the Race electronic combined braking system. This innovative feature uses the rear brake to limit load transfers and improve stability, even if only the front brake is applied. Riders now have access to five adjustable braking settings, up from the three available on previous models.

Ducati has made significant changes to the Streetfighter’s ergonomics to enhance rider comfort. The passenger seat is positioned closer to the ground, while the rider’s seating position now mirrors that of the Panigale. The handlebars are positioned 10 millimeters closer to the rider, and the footpegs have been moved inward by the same distance. These adjustments aim to provide a more natural and comfortable riding posture.

From a design perspective, the Streetfighter V4 maintains its signature aggressive look while incorporating subtle yet impactful updates. The iconic biplane wings are still a defining feature, but now they generate an additional 37 pounds (17 kilograms) of downforce at speeds of 168 miles per hour (270 kilometers per hour). The new full LED headlight at the front and matching lights at the rear enhance the bike’s appearance and visibility. Meanwhile, the compact license plate holder and sleek exhaust system contribute to a cohesive and dynamic aesthetic.

The 2025 Ducati Streetfighter V4 will be available in two versions: the standard model and the upgraded S variant. Both will be single-seater configurations, although Ducati will offer passenger kits as optional accessories. While the company has yet to reveal pricing details, the motorcycles are expected to hit showrooms in March 2025.
