Kyoto Episode 3: Exploring Toei Kyoto Studio Park!

Welcome back to Let’s Walk Japan! In this episode, we continue our Kyoto day trip adventure — this time stepping into the cinematic world of Toei Kyoto Studio Park!

After exploring the stunning Arashiyama area, we hopped on the JR line to Hanazono and made our way through charming local neighborhoods to reach the only theme park in Japan built on an actual film set — operated by Toei, one of Japan’s top film studios!

The Padios building with its souvenir shops, ninja maze, and kids' attractions
Meiji-era streetscapes and classic rickshaws
Ninja Mystery House and 3D Ninja Fort Maze
The Transformation Experience where you can dress like Edo-era locals!

We even caught live samurai training happening on the open set, where over 200 films are shot each year!

Tickets were around 2,400 yen (~$16 USD) — and totally worth it for a full day of fun and cultural immersion.
