Found this old piece of apple wood in my parents’ yard in Enon, Ohio. It was pretty wet, but after sitting a good long while in my shop in Colorado, it was dry enough to turn. Even after casting it in deep pour resin, there were some pretty punky parts that required some penetrating epoxy, but the final finish is butter smooth and the green resin makes a great contrast with the figuring in the wood.
