Conrail Fairview Park Sub Division End of Year Update!

Hello everyone I talk about the end of the year progress that was made on the railroad.
So far this year hobby wise I started doing my ground cover and ground work.

Railroad wise we added 2 new services a Mail Train and a Trailvan Train
between St. Louis and North Bergen, NJ
North Bergen and Chicago
North Bergen and Cincinnati all with stops in Cleveland for the Fairview Park Ramp.
We also added a UPS Hub on our layout for intermodal traffic as well as a United States Postal Service Hub for intermodal traffic

New Car Load customers include Modern Tool and Die Yardmachines which has an assembly plant at the end of the Fairview Park, Industrial Branch Line. Which recieves a trainload of stamped and plastic injection modled parts for the assembly of snowblowers, lawn mowers and riding lawn mowers.

New rolling stock includes many new trailer on flat car, flat cars and associated trailer fleet for the new intermodal service.

We also launched Conrail Total Transportation which can handle dry and refrigerated freight and also handles logistics and Trailvan and Mercury Service.

Our Intermodal division is 2 brands Conrail Trailvan which has nice fleet of brand new 40' trailvan trailers for general freight shipments of finished products ready for market and our Conrail Mercury brand which has a fleet of 48' trailers and is marketed to handle fast shipments of mail, parcels and time sensitive freight that needs to get to the end of the run as quickly as possible. Customers for the Conrail Mercury Service include Boeing Aerospace, Merk Pharmaceuticals and United States Postal Service with USPS being the largest Conrail Mercury Service user.

Other business updates on the layout include a terminal hub for longtime vendor and capital equipment supplier Transamerica Transportation and Distribution Services as well as a small hub on the same property for Strick Trailer Leasing.

Also Conrail Total Transporation streamlined and updated the fleet of semi tractors wich are used to pull the trailers from ramp to customer and then "swing" the trailers over to be reloaded at shippers.

Motive Power updates include
Chessie System B&O 8588 SD50 chipped and ready to go and used in heavy mixed freight service.
Our newest locomotive a Conrail 6805 Conrail SD50 for heavy mixed frieght manifest train service as well.

For intermodal trains were using our 2 SD45s for fast intermodal service and our SD40s and Chessie System GP35 bat clean up for autoparts trains, and extra manifest freights. We do have one SD40 in the shop and is due back in January of next year.

GP20 2102 works the yard and branch line along with SW1500 9143.

Transamerica Transporation Services is leasing
48'&45' 102" wide dry van trailers as well as some 45' refrigerator trailers.

Transamerica Distribution Services loads out 40' trailers specializing in multi-stop routes.
