And this is the final part of the Super Mario Star runs, bringing you the any% runs that are the same as in vanilla SM64. Since I had already timed every star for the previous part (70 Star), creating the routes for the rest of the categories was pretty easy, with all conditions that I mentioned before.
50 Star:
Probably the easiest, only having to do the BLJ after the 70 star door. There were no major timelosses, it was a decent run.
31 Star:
Next on the list. My experience running ZAR 12 Ztar during the league didn't help at all in my first run so I had to do more attempts to get another run just as good to save time at the very end. I still died in C4 once like in my previous PB and I missed several throws so a sub 30 is possible.
16 Star:
The last category I was willing to do. It is possible to go as low as 8 or 9 stars by doing SBLJ once you get to the basement but after trying to do it I found myself very inconsistent at it and I'm also not very patient to spend a lot of time learning it.
The downside of this category is that, like I've mentioned before, there's only one exit warp, so you have to do MIPS clip twice, one to go get C9 S1 and one to go to B2. And then there's the BLJs that you do after that just like in 31 Star. There were several timelosses in this run so a sub 20 is possible.
These are definitely my least optimized runs of this hack but the skips really discourage me to do more runs because even with a close to perfect run once you get all the stars you need it's very possible to lose the run by failing the skips and losing all time saved. Needless to say, these runs would also be faster with fixed warps but not as much as for 70 and 102. I'd say up to 5 minutes for each category.
