Researchers from IDA’s Systems and Analyses Center used 40-mm rubber rounds from single- and multi-launchers with 5-inch cylinders to demonstrate damage to a steel exterior door with polyurethane core. The demonstration was part of background research for an analysis of the significance of possible rib injuries from rubber, plastic, or beanbag munitions. The research was sponsored by the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate, and the resulting report is available at https://idalink.org/d-8277.
