James Bond Island, whose official Thai name is Khao Phing Kan, is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Thailand's Phang Nga Bay. Its characteristic and most photographed feature is the 20-meter-tall, slender limestone rock called Ko Tapu (Nail Island) 🏝️.
The island gained its worldwide fame from the 1974 James Bond movie, The Man with the Golden Gun, where it served as the hideout for the main antagonist, Francisco Scaramanga. Today, it is a protected area within the Ao Phang Nga National Park, attracting crowds of tourists every day.
