This video focuses on the reptiles and amphibians I could find while visiting Florida last month as well as hunting for rattlesnakes when I returned to San Diego. This video is packed with snakes, lizards, tree frogs, turtles, tortoises, and more. The species I found in Florida included Florida Box Turtle, Green Anole, Brown Anole, Corn Snake, Black Racer, and Cuban Tree Frog. In San Diego, we found a Red Diamond Rattlesnake. My herping highlights of the video were catching the Red Diamond Rattlesnake and seeing the Brown Anole lizards fighting.
When I was a child I focused mostly on finding reptiles and amphibians, and then I fell in love with birding in high school. Since high school, I have spent the majority of time observing birds, and I feel like I have neglected herps. Recently I have become motivated to do more herping and research reptiles and amphibians. I am excited to produce more herping videos.
I would not consider myself a herping expert, and my herping skills do not come close to my birding skills. But I am passionate to learn more, and I am happy to share with others what I experience and what I have learned! I also want to make it clear that you should be catching rattlesnakes if you have no experience. If you do not have experience, you need to go out with someone who does have experience!
This channel is for people of all ages who are passionate about exploring nature, viewing wildlife, and learning about the environment. My name is Eddie and I'm a 30-year-old wildlife biologist from California. I have an MSc in Ecology and have been to four continents to seek and study wildlife. I hope to inspire naturalists by providing content that everyday people can use to enhance their experience observing nature in the field. Nature activities I cover are birdwatching, herping, wildlife photography, snorkeling/scuba diving, hiking, ecotourism-travel, and much more. This includes app and gear reviews, tips for spotting and identifying wildlife, travel guides for wildlife tourism, and fun lessons about natural history, ecology, and conservation. Whether you travel across the world or step into your own backyard, exploring nature is always an adventure, so subscribe to immerse yourself in Adventure Education!
