The City of Barrie is about an hour north of Toronto and is part of Simcoe County. It is located on the shores of Kempenfelt Bay on the western shore of Lake Simcoe. Known as a bedroom community for Toronto, it is well connected by Ontario Highway 400, Ontario Northland, and GO Transit to Toronto, with Barrie Transit providing local service within the city. Regional service is also provided to Wasaga Beach, Midland, & Orillia by Simcoe County Transit.
