🚰 Installing a Waterdrop G2 REVERSE OSMOSIS System in our TINY HOUSE

Today we’re installing a Waterdrop G2 reverse osmosis water filter system in our tiny home.

Unfortunately the water on the new property is extremely hard and has a lot of iron in it. We already installed a three cartridge RV filter system. We did that so that the sink and tub don’t get stained and to pull out some of the large particulates. The drinking water quality was still pretty gross, though. To try to fix this, we were putting it in our BWB water pitcher, but we still weren’t getting that clean, crisp flavor that we wanted.

We also no longer have a septic system so we have no need for garbage disposal anymore. Grinding up food scraps and putting them in our gray water system would clog it very quickly and cause a lot of bacterial growth. So we’re gonna pull out the garbage disposal and use the under sink power for this reverse osmosis system.

Now the system is a little bit different than your older, traditional reverse osmosis systems. This doesn’t have a reserve tank. It uses a pump instead and gives you water on demand. This reduces the size under the sink and you don’t have to worry about any bacteria growing in the tank or keeping your tank properly pressurized.

As part of this we’re gonna do a little bit of electrical work because I need to make the under sink outlet constant hot and so I’m going to remove the switch and replace it with another receptacle.
