Picture it like this....
Thomas is just sitting there and then this cute guy (Jon Cozart) walks by and immediately Roman starts fantasizing, so he pulls Thomas into daydream mode (like the episode about originality) but naturally the rest of the sides have to join in, the Jon starts out as just a figment that Roman conjured up for the duet, but since we know the sides can shape shift they take the forms of Jon and Joan as well, idk that's just how I saw it.
