It´s time for a new round with the best pianos for the iOS platform.
This is my personal choice, my criteria is the following:
Only stand alone apps, no sounds inside any DAW, I want to use them in whatever host I choose, or just stand alone.
Only AUV3 instruments, don´t want the fuss and unreliability of other midi/audio connections.
I gladly pay for my apps, developers need to be payed for their work, but when I do, it´s mine, I refuse any app with a subscription fee.
I test the sounds for several parameters, including attack, decay, release, and other resonances and noises that are a part of the acoustic instrument.
I check for sample transitions, overall balance and character.
Finally, I evaluate how it sounds and feels compared to the real instruments.
This will always be subjective, so take it with a grain of salt.
