Napoleon Bonaparte dominated Europe for around 15 years. This reign should come to end with the German Campaign. In 1812, Napoleon faced a significant defeat during his Russian Campaign. Now, the European nations, esp. the German states stood up against the Emperor of the French.
The great powers of Europe and the people of Germany fought Napoleon in 1813. This struggle culminated in the Battle of Nations near Leipzig, Germany. The allies won and invaded France in 1814. The military pressure from nearly all of Europe's countries forced Napoleon Bonaparte to abdicate. He was excited on the island of Elba from where he should return to France for the last time in 1815.
One of the most significant results of the German Campaign against Napoleon and the invasion of France was the Vienna Congress which reestablished the old order in Europe.
