Last Good Sail of the Season Solo to Lymington

I set out solo sailing my Jeanneau Sun 2000 from Christchurch to Lymington on a breezy day — possibly the last good sail of the season before autumn storms and shorter evenings close in. It was classic UK coastal sailing: fast on a beam reach, spray flying, and a quick crossing across Christchurch Bay into the Solent. But not without a hiccup — a surprise gybe left me briefly tangled in the mainsheet before I carried on and moored safely in Lymington Marina.

The weekend continued with a high-wind downwind run to Cowes with my wife, followed by a gentle light-airs sail back — a perfect way to close out the summer sailing season.
