Luxembourg is the only one of the original 7 competitors of the contest at its birth in 1956 to not have any entries in the 2000's and 2010's, and for a long time Luxembourg was thought to be a country forever absent from the contest after their last entry in 1993. In 2023 however, they announced a return after a 20-year long absence. Since they returned, both years Luxembourg successfully qualified from the semifinal, technically making them tied with Ukraine as the only countries to have a 100% qualification rate.
Luxembourg has five victories in Eurovision in total, but funnily enough... none of these winners are Luxembourgish! 1961 saw Jean-Claude Pascal win with "Nous Les Amoureux". Luxembourg also won with France Gall's "Poupée De Cire, Poupée De Son" in 1965, with Vicky Leandros in 1972 with "Après Toi" and again in 1973 with Anne-Marie David's "Tu Te Reconnaîtras". The most recent win Luxembourg achieved was in 1983 with Corrine Hermès's "Si La Vie Est Cadeau".
