Hello guys, I bring you another somewhat nostalgic video, as we climb aboard a HST Excursion all the way to Chester from Durham.
This HST set is an Ex-EMR set with a powercar that has been repainted into a “Midland Mainline” livery, and there is also an Ex-GWR carriage at one end of the train as well. The train itself belongs to the 125 group who loaned it to Bishop Trains/Excursions by Rail, the latter two of which were the ones who organised this day excursion all the way from Newcastle to Chester and back again.
It was great to visit Chester for the first time as well, especially seeing the model railway in the cathedral which was run by Pete Waterman.
I hope to go on a Charter service again soon. Actually, I did earlier in 2025, but that’s a video story for another time and day, hopefully some point soon!
