MEDU VADA RECIPE | CRISPY MEDU VADA | SOUTH INDIAN RECIPE

Hello my YouTube Fam , welcome back to my to my channel . I hope you all are staying safe and sound . Today’s recipe that I have for you all is inspired by the south of India and it’s the Medu vada . I hope you will enjoy this recipe too .
Ingredients
For the Medu Vada
2 cups urad daal
1 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
1 tsp pepper powder
11/2 tbsp ginger
12-15 curry leaves
2 tsp chilli flakes
3-4 green chillies
2 tbsp rice flour
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
For coconut chutney
1 cup grated coconut
2 tbsp chana daal
4-5 green chillies
6-8 curry leaves
1 tbsp raw peanuts
1 inch ginger
2 dry red chillies
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 tbsp oil
Method
1. Wash the urad daal and soak it in water overnight or for atleast a minimum of 10-12 hours
2. Cut the green chilli, curry leaves and ginger and keep aside
3. Next drain the water and blend the daal into a very fine and smooth paste
4. Transfer the batter into a bowl and all the ingredients into it i.e the ginger,green chilli,chilli flakes,salt,rice flour,pepper powder,cumin seeds,curry leaves and mix well
5. Heat oil to fry the Medu vada
6. Wet your hands and take some batter as needed and make them into the shapes you desire and fry them well till they are golden brown
For coconut chutney
1. Blend the coconut, green chilli, chana daal , ginger,raw peanuts
2. Transfer into a bowl
3. For the tadka heat oil , add mustard seeds , cumin seeds , dry red chilli , curry leaves and asafoetida
4. Add the hot tadka into bowl with the coconut chutney and mix well
