FANTASTIC Schindler TX-5 modded ROCKET HIGH SPEED traction elevators at the Capital Hilton in DC

(📹 5/1/2025) These are the absolutely epic and rocket speed elevators at the Capital Hilton in Washington DC. These were originally Westinghouses that were built in the middle of WW2, then got modded by Schindler around the 2000's with EPCO fixtures. These elevators are crazy fast and have the PERFECT speed for traveling 12 floors. I have never seen such an efficient elevator system in my life. If this place were to be built in the 2000's, they'd probably stick with boring, 350 fpm tractions over these 700 fpm beauties. The cabs look stunning, and I love the original Westinghouse door sills, with their logo on them. These are definitely in my top 10 favorite elevators I found this year.
