Painting an Old Steel Cup I Acrylic Painting Process I The Artistry of Realistic Painting

Instead of painting the exact color as a base, I applied a light yellow-green base on the cup's body. There is a hidden yellow-green tint here and there, and this base color will contribute to it subtly.
I used a small detail brush to paint thin, muddy, irregular lines across the surface of the cup to represent the wear and tear of this old cup. I like this part of the painting because I usually paint clean/new objects. I got the same feeling when I did the rusted nut and bolt!
Variations in the length, thickness, and direction of the scratches in this painting made them look natural and random.

For the darker spots, which are dirty and aged, I used a mixture of Black and Burnt Sienna. I applied this color selectively to areas of the cup where aging would naturally occur, such as around the rim, handle, bottom, and some on the body area.
Please remember to observe the light Yellow and orange colors on the inner surface as highlights.
I loved it while working on this inner area. I hope it came out well :)
