This problem has been happening since our first few months of ownership almost 4 years ago, and Chrysler has been unable to resolve it after many attempts. Now they want to charge us money to continue to fail to diagnose it.
The issue is intermittent, and can be very dangerous as it prevents the entire car from locking. Essentially, the liftgate fails to open/close, and the car fails to lock.
The solution is to pull the fuse F50 and put it back in. Keeping a pair of pliers in the glove box is helpful. The little plastic fuse puller doesn't work well.
Our lane guidance system, automatic high beams sensor, automatic daytime runners, and high beam lights have also stopped working over the years, and no solution has been found as of yet.
