Couldn't find any information on how to remove the selector switch from F250's auto hub.
After watching someone figure it out on the manual ones.. Kudos to him cause I never would have found this without his video! ( • Ford F series super duty complete manual l... ) I decided to try and figure out if it was possible on our Auto ones..
Worked on trying to follow the directions for the manual one where it wouldn't work.. ended up buying a new one.. but then kept going and mine ended up having a hole in the middle of the selector switch. Decided to try and push down in the hole and found that we were able to remove it.. Quite dirty in there an cleaned it up.
Figured probably a good idea to show it IS possible.. but a hole may need to be made in the switch to do it, which i filled in with hot glue for now.. perhaps silicone would have worked as well..
EDIT: As many have mentioned the silver bar may be a air vent. If you end up having to make a hole, just fill in what you made and not the whole silver bar area.
I ended up having to open and clean both my auto hubs, and did them both back in November 2016. As of Sept 2018 - still working properly.
