This Bruce Hornsby solo piano show was a free concert hosted by Wequassett as part of the Cape Cod Jazz Festival summer series. It was a beautiful night by the water in Harwich, MA. The setlist, in typical Bruce Hornsby fashion, is a colorful mix of old favorites, personally selected rarities, and audience requests both written and verbal. Bruce also regaled the crowd with lots of entertaining stories through the show. It was a fun surprised to hear both It's the Same Old Song and Love Me Still, and the musical detours during Boo Radley, Valley Road, and Spider Fingers traversed through jazz, classical, and the avant-garde. Edge-of-your-seat, unpredictable entertainment all night long from Bruce.

I was surprised to find that the crowd, for a mix of free patrons and dinner guests, was rather respectful. You'll hear conversations and clinking glasses in this recording, but considering I was positioned very far back by a speaker outside the cocktail bar, this is a replayable capture and places the listener right in the moment.
