Access Tech Live presents a conversation about. Lumen is a company that has developed a headset called Lumen glasses to assist visually impaired individuals. The glasses use AI and six cameras to understand the environment and provide haptic feedback to guide the user. The glasses can detect obstacles, determine the type of terrain, and navigate the user safely. Lumen aims to provide the same benefits as a guide dog but without the high cost and lifestyle commitment. In Europe, the glasses will be available for free or heavily subsidized through assistive technology reimbursement programs. The company plans to make the glasses smaller and more attractive for future generations.
