Today I am planting Saskatoon Berry Bushes in the Cottage Garden. These are an unknown variety of Saskatoons that I picked up at Home Depot. The first year they will root into the ground and put on some growth and the second year they will start to fruit.
There wasn't alot of information on the label about zones but I do know they will grown in zones 2-4 for sure. Here in Saskatchewan they grow wild in fields, ditches, around lakes and in the hills. They are are a beautiful berry and are known for their unique flavor. They make great jams, jellies, purees, in tarts, breads cakes and wines.
