Luke 2:36-38 (NIV) There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

Comfort and ease will never produce strong & steady faith.
√ FAMILIARITY
FAITH THAT ENDURES

I. RECEIVE OUR STRENGTH FROM GOD

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭28‬-‭31‬ ‭(ESV‬‬) “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Prayer of Dependence - God, I need your strength today. I’m done trying to do this on my own.”


II. REMAIN IN JESUS CHRIST.

John 15:5 (NIV) “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
Prayer of Surrender - God, I yield to your plans today. I’m done trying to do this my way.
