During the WWE 2008 Draft, Batista was traded from SmackDown to RAW. Because of this, Batista found himself on the same show as John Cena for the first time since 2002. Both superstars had grown immensely in popularity since then, and it wasn't long before fans started to predict when these two veterans would collide.
As the feud between Batista and John Cena began to pick up heat on the road to SummerSlam 2008, their paths led them towards the World Tag Team Championship. Defeating the duo of Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Jr., Batista and John Cena won the gold on an episode of RAW, but their rising conflict led to them losing the belts shortly thereafter. This only served to heighten their rivalry, a rivalry based purely on who was the more dominant superstar between the two. When it was all said and done, would Batista emerge as the better talent, or would John Cena defeat another top superstar on his way to immortality?
