I purchased this Immaculate, low KLM 2001 ZX9R from the original owner just over 10 years ago. The original owner used it very sparingly and did manage to have it serviced 3 or 4 times despite the low original kays of 4,399 at the time of sale.
It came will full purchase papers, Log Books, Service history, C-Tek charger, and both original Kawasaki keys with the key number tag as provided by the dealer.
I purchased it with the intention to use it, but some time later I decided to just keep it mint and original and keep it in storage and purchase another one to use and abuse. They just never come up for sale like this anymore and I would confidently say that this may just be the only low kay example of this particular edition in the Country. This is why I decided to preserve it and ultimately keep it as a display bike.
It's been stored at a friend's house all these years and I have been able to carry out ongoing maintenance on her despite never having ridden it. It's been unregistered since purchase.
Having recently just completed a new shed build, it was time to bring her home.
It needed a fuel system service as the carbs weren't co-operating on a pre trial start up. Without going into full surgery mode, I managed to clear the carbs enough to get it to run, albeit on 3 cylinders at times. It has new plugs too.
So, during the video, you will hear the bike juddering off the slow speed take offs and cornering. It was just enough to get her home and not have to pay some transport mob stupid money for the trip.
As it was unregistered, I applied for an unregistered vehicle permit (UPV) to be able to legally ride it from point A to point B without the fear of getting pinged for unregistered and uninsured. That's a fine of around $1500.
For $29 I got to ride it home for the first time despite passing Police at a set of lights as you will see. A highway patrol car, nonetheless, who didn't even bat an eyelid at a motorcycle with no number plates. Go figure...
Anyway, nothing exciting or wild. Just a simple video I took to mark the journey home and had to take it easy so as not to attract the attention of the Police under a UPV.
Thanks for reading this and I hope you enjoy the video.
My first ever video edit, so please be kind.
