London’s skyline is changing — fast.
Glass towers are rising where church spires once defined the horizon, and the pace isn’t slowing down.
In this video, we look at London as it is today and explore what it might become over the next 10, 20, 50… even 100 years. Using current photography alongside computer-generated future visuals, this film asks a simple but uncomfortable question: how far can one of the world’s oldest cities keep building upwards?
London is one of the most complex cities on Earth to develop. Listed buildings, protected views of St Paul’s Cathedral, narrow historic streets, and the River Thames all limit how — and where — the city can grow. Yet despite those constraints, the skyline has been completely reshaped in just the last few decades.
From the Gherkin and the Shard to 22 Bishopsgate and the next wave of towers already approved, London is undergoing a vertical transformation driven by population growth, climate pressure, housing demand, and economic change.
