Mid Atlantic Rally

Join us for a full recap of the 2025 Mid‑Atlantic Rally (MAR) hosted by the Rover Owners Association of Virginia (ROAV) — celebrating 50 years of Rover-enthusiasts, adventure and overland heritage! Whether you’re a seasoned Land Rover owner, new to the scene, or simply love off-road legends and family-friendly exploration, this rally has something for everyone.
What is ROAV?
Founded in Richmond, Virginia in 1975, the Rover Owners Association of Virginia is North America’s oldest Land Rover enthusiast club.

Over the years the club has brought together families, Land Rover owners, and adventure-seeking communities from across the U.S. through trail riding, camping rallies, technical talks, vintage vehicle displays and social gatherings. For this 50th anniversary year the MAR event is the flagship one — held Sept 25-28, 2025 at Pearl’s Pond in Buckingham County, VA.

Featured Historic Vehicles
Pollyanna – The beloved Series I built for the adventurous author‐explorer Barbara Toy. This vehicle holds the distinction of being the first Land Rover to embark on a recreational expedition, and the first to circumnavigate the globe.

Oxford – One of the restored landmarks from the 1955-56 Oxford and Cambridge Far Eastern Expedition. This vehicle returns to Virginia after spending the year 2020 in the care of ROAV during the “Oxford in America” tour — bringing light to 2020 for Land Rover owners.

First Trans-Americas Range Rover – From the pioneering 1972 British Trans‑Americas Expedition (which included the treacherous Darién Gap crossing), one of the Range Rovers that drove the Americas end-to-end is also heading to MAR. Our rally weekend features trail rides, camping under the stars, Victorian-era Land Rover line-ups, games & competitions, Saturday night dinner & raffle — all part of ROAV’s classic MAR format.

Lucky8 LLC – Based in the Land Rover aftermarket and parts world (specializing in Defender L663 upgrades among others) shared a tent with Lekker Defenders at MAR to support owners, display gear and share their passion.

Melvill & Moon – While not strictly automotive, we’re weaving in their campaign furniture aesthetic for the lounge/display area — giving the rally a rich “expedition-meets-heritage design” made out tent feel like we were back in Africa!
