Overview Lesson on Psoriasis: Pathophysiology, Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment. Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory skin condition characterized by a particular skin lesion, which you will learn about in this lesson. The onset of psoriasis is related to several risk factors, including family history and smoking, among others. There are 6 different types of psoriasis, including the most common called plaque psoriasis - you will learn about the other types in this lesson as well! Finally, in the lesson, we discussed treatment options for psoriasis, and when to use them.
