‘Vuka' means ‘Wake Up’ in SiSwati, and urges youth to take charge of their own lives, by learning creative and environmentally conscious techniques that can make them self reliant.
The Vuka Project aims to construct and operate a creative and environmentally conscious arts and crafts center, that will benefit the people, in particular the youth of Mahlanya and the greater Lobamba Constituency in eSwatini. With a central concern for creativity, the members of the Vuka project will teach techniques of arts and crafts, permaculture, and sustainable building construction.
