Country links below! Which countries do people google, in the 40 countries with the largest populations?

I collected data from Google Trends (trends.google.com) on which countries people google, each month from 2004 to 2022. I then took the average to see which countries that generate the most interest in each country.

The video shows with countryballs what the results are. The video goes through the top 40 list, from the largest (China) and all the way down to Uzbekistan. Balls are scaled relative to their search interest. The most popular country gets a countryball that is equal to the country in focus. A country that is searched half as much gets a countryball with a radius that is half as big, and so on. The visualization was programmed in a data analysis software called R.
