First pointe shoe fitting EVER! Adult ballet milestone!

Follow along on this day of celebration. Seeing myself on pointe was a dream I never thought possible. This day means everything to me.

I grew up loving dance, obsessed with movies like Moulin Rouge, Dirty Dancing, Bring It On, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, and Center Stage. I practiced cheer routines in my room for hours. But ballet? I thought it wasn’t for me. Impossible. I didn’t even ask my parents for ballet classes because I had already convinced myself I could never do it. So I went my whole life wanting it, but never trying.

Fast forward to now—I’m 34 years old and 17 months into my ballet journey. I’m the strongest I’ve ever felt. Ballet has changed me in ways I never imagined. My first pair of pointe shoes isn’t just a milestone, it’s a symbol of resilience and determination, of chasing your wildest dreams.

As I edited this video, I imagined my 10-year-old self next to me, watching in awe. She would think I’m the coolest person. And I’m finally giving her the gift she never thought she could have.

Maybe my pull towards the movie Center Stage was the universe telling me all along that I was meant to find ballet as an adult. The answers were always there—I just had to follow them.
