The Cost of Deporting 11 Million Immigrants

It is estimated that between 11 and 13 million illegal immigrants are in the USA. What would it cost to actually deport every single one?

According to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement numbers, along with the American Immigration council, a fugitive arrests costs roughly $6,736.87 per arrest.

Once the subject is detained, housing them costs $236.52 for a single person and $481.79 for a family.

Trial costs $1,719.57.

Deportation costs $1,479.29.

If the US were to detain, process, trial and deport or release every single illegal immigrant, it would most likely take at least 3 days.

Day 1: Capture, detention and processing.

Day 2: Trial

Day 3: Deportation or release.

This would cost the US Taxpayer $114,627,139,970.

If the process takes as long as 30 days, the cost would go up to $185,039,617,010.

If the process takes as long as a year, the cost would go up to $1,058,675,906,210.

Note that a one year wait is on the extreme end. The process might likely take between 3 and 30 days. But outliers could take longer.
