The big key on league start is using the trade site to your advantage.
Get creative on how you search for items and look for the flexibility in your build.
You don't have to get the exact gear that build guides have. Move around resistances or attributes as needed.
Look for fractured bases that you can craft with essences, this goes for weapons as well.
You could look for a +1 level to fire skill gems for example or a high flat physical damage roll on an axe.
Remember to keep the prices in range of what your budget is. Even just a few chaos can make a big difference in your build.
