In chapter 1 of this prophetic book, written before 400 years of silence from God, we see the Israelites ready and waiting for the messianic age, for the Savior to come. In this time period, the country of Israel was tired and weary from what seemed like one endless trial. Malachi's words told of even more destruction.

They were feeling unloved. But before God corrects, He always connects. God's love is rooted and proven in His covenant, not òur circumstances. Covenantal love is a commitment, not made with emotions. It's a choice to be made. He says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love."

God chooses us so He can love us, so we will go and love others. If you're ever doubting God's love, read Romans 8:38-39. Nothing can separate us from the love of God!
