I've had a lot of requests to discuss the master volume circuit I put in most amps. So here such a video is.
Watching it back, I realized I said the twisted grid wires are as good as/better than shielded wires but I didn’t say why (but I have in many previous videos). We’re taking advantage of common mode cancellation. Any noise common to one wire is common to the other wire. And as the output tubes are out of phase with each other, the common noise is canceled out.
Just like a humbucker.
