Gildun's Looking Glass | Horizon Zero Dawn

Side Quest: Waterlogged

A drummer of the Deep Din, Laulai, informs Aloy of a sudden rush of water that has flooded the basin at Deep Din and obstructed her drumming in this Old World ruins. Laulai's father played the pipes to rally the Banuk against the Carja during the Red Raids. Since the war ended, Laulai plays the musical instrument for the joy of it, or to remember her family's legacy. As Aloy travels northwest to the Deep Din, she encountered Demonic Snapmaws guarding the flooded basin and killed the machines. She follows the upriver and found the source of the flood - the Greycatch and met Gildun, a Delver.

While exploring Greycatch, Gildun believed he spotted a looking glass in a storage room, which is an artifact that held deep personal meaning. It reminded him of his mother once brought back from a delve, a moment he cherished where the two of them smiling as he held it in awe, captivated by its intricacy.

In trying to reach it, he accidentally broke the floodgate controls, causing the facility to flood. He fled when a bridge collapsed, losing a key ring to the locking mechanism in the water and trapping himself behind a closed door. Gildun and Aloy then worked together to open two sluice gates, lowering the water level and retrieving the ring swallowed up by a Demonic Snapmaw.

Once inside the storage room, the "looking glass" turned out to be an Old World alarm clock, but Gildun took it in stride despite his disappointment. Aloy later let him reactivate the restored control mechanism.
