In 1579 in Feudal Japan in the Sengoku era is the time when the nation is crossed by myriads of civil and military wars in the bloody attempt by the daimyo Oda Nobunaga to unify the territories under a single banner and thus create that modern Japan long imagined. Against this bloody and contrasting background, the very long plot of the game unfolds, which sees the beginning of the whole story following the brutal invasion of the province of Iga by the daimyo Nobunaga with the help of the African slave turned Samurai Yasuke with tragic consequences that will affect Naoe, a young assassin, fictional daughter of the real shinobi Fujibayashi Nagato.
