This lecture is part of the online course at IISER Pune organised by the Department of Physics.
Course title: INTRODUCTION TO THE PHYSICS OF ULTRACOLD GASES.
Syllabus: https://rb.gy/z9t8oy
Course Presenter: Prof. Luis Santos, Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany
Course Description by the presenter: Ultracold gases constitute one of the most active research fields in physics in recent years.
In this lecture series, I will discuss the basics of ultracold gases, starting with an overview of the theory of Bose-Einstein condensation, superfluidity, and degenerate Fermi gases. I will then move to the exciting realm of strongly-correlated quantum gases, especially in the context of optical lattices. I will finish the course with a discussion of more advanced topics of current interest.
