RD24365(vid). When I visited the long closed 2ft 3in gauge Corris Railway near Machynlleth in Mid-Wales sometime in the 1960s, I certainly didn’t expect that many years into the future it would be possible to see trains running again. And certainly not with a replica of the original Kerr Stuart 0-4-2ST which is now running on the nearby Talyllyn Railway and named EDWARD THOMAS.
In fact any suggestion that this might happen would have been met with a reference to flying pigs! But it has happened, so chocks away, piggies…
To make for easier viewing, I have edited my video footage into five short instalments and this, part one, shows replica Kerr Stuart 0-4-2ST number 7 running round at Corris Station and preparing for another trip to Maespoeth which is currently the limit of operations.
