Originally recorded in 1976 and released in a limited edition, the album '90768' is a collection of songs which reflects George Grant’s childhood memories of life around Scottish railway stations; the eponymous '90768' being an actual railway engine which was a regular feature while he was living at Muirkirk station in Ayrshire.
Or is it an allegory on man’s journey through life?
Either way, it was a project with which I was privileged to be closely involved and I was, therefore, delighted when George contacted me to let me know that the Japanese label Branco had initiated discussions with him to produce a re-mastered version on CD.
Those discussions proved fruitful and '90768' in CD format is now a reality.
