Abstract: Double periodograms, based on a time series model consisting of two independent sinusoids, significantly extend the capability of ordinary periodograms. These algorithms have super resolution that evades the Rayleigh criterion and is limited instead by signal-to-noise. The algorithms include provision for statistical weighting, are easily tapered and extended to other than the two-sinusoid basis. They can be used for essentially any time series (e.g. time-tagged events or point measurements) with arbitrary sampling - even or uneven.
If time permits, I will discuss a few new results: an improved Bayesian Block algorithm; the Lomb-Scargle Fourier transform; the ARMA Convolution Group and the Arrow of Time.
