#Hardcastlezone: The Jazzmasters series is my focus in keeping with my desire to pay tribute to music recorded by Paul Hardcastle during the 90s. Although Hardcastle has produced several albums with the Jazzmasters name, this specific CD has 16 tracks and was released in Japan on June 23, 1999, which makes the CD rare. Several of the tracks on this Japan version are also listed on Paul’s other Jazzmasters compilations. But the track “Dreamin” is a song that is not available on any of the Jazzmasters albums he released in the U.S. Paul was very much the composer who, during the 80s, preferred the uptempo rhythmic dance beats and funk sounds. This was evident from his contributions during the "First Light" years and his personal and successful tracks “The Wizard”; “You’re the One for Me”; and “Rainforest” [to name a few]. Remember, his softer electronic tunes that music critics defined as "chill jazz” came along beginning in the early 90s! The variation of sounds put in this track is awesome… and I wish that Paul would have included it among the selections he chose for the Hardcastle History album released in 2016.
