Beware the Fake Sadhus at Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal🇳🇵

KATHMANDU, NEPAL: This is our last adventure here in Nepal and what a place we chose for it! Pashupatinath is located in Kathmandu and is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is considered to be on the most important Hindu sites in the whole world. Unfortunately, amonst the many genuine holy men and women at Pashupationath, there are some fake sadus to beware of who are only there for money.

Cremations at Pashupatinath are an important part of the temple's religious and cultural significance. The cremation site is located on the banks of the Bagmati River, adjacent to the temple complex, and is considered one of the most sacred cremation sites for Hindus.

In Hinduism, death is seen as a transition from one life to another, and cremation is believed to release the soul from the body and allow it to enter a new life. The cremation process at Pashupatinath involves a series of rituals and ceremonies, and it is carried out in accordance with the ancient Hindu scriptures.

The cremation site at Pashupatinath is open to all Hindus, regardless of their caste or social status, and there are separate areas for men and women. The cremation process is overseen by priests, who perform the necessary rituals and offer prayers for the departed soul.
